Does Anyone Else Start New Projects Before Finishing the Old Ones?

I have a confession to make…

I just can’t seem to finish one stained glass project before I’m inspired to start another one—or two!

Every time I sit down at my workbench determined to complete a piece, a new idea pops into my head. Maybe it’s a color combination I want to try, a pattern I’ve been sketching, or a custom design that suddenly sparks my creativity. Before I know it, there are multiple projects spread across the studio, all at different stages of completion.

Part of the joy of creating stained glass is that inspiration can strike at any moment. One piece of glass catches the light just right, and suddenly I’m imagining an entirely new project. While it may not be the most efficient way to work, it certainly keeps things exciting!

Today, I thought I’d share a few of the projects currently on my workbench. Each one is unique and at a different stage of the creative process. Some are nearly finished, while others are just beginning to take shape.

I’d love to know—am I the only one who does this? Do you find yourself starting new creative projects before finishing the ones already in progress?

One thing is certain: there is never a shortage of ideas in a stained glass studio, and that’s part of what makes this craft so rewarding.

Stay tuned as these projects come together, and thank you for following along on this colorful creative journey!
